Mr. Reardens initial indictment is selling four thousand tons of his metal to Ken Dannager in defiance of the governments new laws, but it is not this sale that gets him in deep trouble with the courts. It is not Hank Reardens motive of strictly profit upon which the people seek to be the self-evident brand of ultimate evil. Conversely, Mr. Rearden is faulted by his own moral hinkings. When he states, The public good be damned, I will have no part of it! his announcement is his first true plea off innocence and his first effort to step away from the guilt that he has acknowledged for such a long period of time. This scene would be the most meaningful to me because I am sometimes a person who feels very guilty about I did, but I do not acknowledge it until later on in the day or even week because I try to move on from it. I can sympathize with Mr. Hank Rearden also, because he is in a sticky situation with being charged with defying the ew laws of government set recently. But what gets Hank Rearden in trouble for, and I too sometimes as well, is that he tries to play off his innocence to many situations and doubts his conscience constantly. This is evident in the case where Hank is having a relationship with Dagny and openly professes that he doesnt love her after their first night together at Ellis Wyatts house. Mr. Rearden also states that their relationship is something that he has given in to a desire which I despise. I also chose this scene as my favorite in Atlas Shrugged, because it shows that Hank Rearden has a great deal of frustration with the American government and they way they are treating the citizens. He elects to stand up for himself and in doing so, condescends the people present in the courtroom, as well as the citizens that have ever made him feel guilty about anything, or Just simply follow along with the newly established laws and show no backbone. He is essentially tired of being pushed around and constantly feeling guilt for everything good in his life that he has experienced. Hank Rearden believes that the United States will not thrive under this hese newly reformed laws and new style of government and therefore damns everyone who goes along with it. Mr. Hank Rearden recognizes his actions as morally wrong and also knows that he cannot give them up because he takes upon too much Joy in them. He realizes that he is striving for something of great value to him personally, but still he loathes himself for being too weak to resist the temptations of the ugly weakness of mans lower nature. Hank Rearden is now always feeling sorrow and guilt for things that lease him, because they most likely are immoral and will cause other people around him to get hurt. The scene that I choose, where Mr. Hank Rearden is in court and states that The public good be damned, I will have no part of it! can easily relate back to the more central theme of governmental take over. This theme, in a sense, is more vital to the novel than any other themes that I came across. The reason being, government has almost everything to do with the way this current dogmatic United States is operating. This new society is torcing the most productive citizens to be shamelessly axed on the goods that they provide and also their wages that they honestly earned. This scene can also be incorporated with the theme of o ne integrating their mind and body as one whole being. Hank Rearden is aware that his spell with Dagny is not one that he should be having, although she is a beautiful woman who flaunts her sexuality, but insists on letting his mind take over and his body to take a place in the backseat, so to say. Reardens conscious is aware that he should not be with Dagny, yet his feelings for her take over and he is barraged with sexual thoughts that lead im to pursue her and eventually use his body to weaken his morals. This weakening of morals leads to Hank Rearden constantly feeling guilty for every pleasure he will feel for the rest of his life, tying into the scene where he shouts in the courtroom. His outburst in the courtroom signifies that he will not be taken advantage of for a petty crime that he did not commit. He does realize although, that committing many other pasts crimes have built up into a big ball of guilt and led him into the position where he is now.

Abortion is the removal of a fetus before it has been born. The opposing sides of the debate each strongly believe that they are right. Pro-Choice believe that it is a woman’s right to choose what to do. Pro-Life are concerned about the life of the unborn child. Resulting of this debate leads to the case of Roe v. Wade in 1973. Roe v. Wade started when a woman in Texas wished to terminate her pregnancy but the laws in Texas didn’t allow abortion except only when the woman needs to be saved. The Court’s decision in this case was the disprove limitations of abortions to women. Somehow women find a reason to have an abortion such as their religious practices, attitudes towards their values and future, their philosophy, and so on. I support that women should be able to have the right to have an abortion in the first trimester. The reason being is because some women would have been raped and they don’t want to have a child who reminds them of a rapist and they can’t cope with that, or they’re not financially stable, or probably because of their religious practices. According to Roe v. Wade case, some of the people had a few reasons why they would want pass the law of prohibiting abortion and to justify it. When they allowed abortion, the abortion mortality rates were high. Another reason was that they wanted to protect prenatal life. They would only abort the fetus when the mother’s life is at stake. Finally, they didn’t want to encourage illegal sexual conduct. That is what the pro-life believes. Pro-choice say that women should have the right to privacy but pro-life tries argue that the constitution doesn’t specifically say any right to privacy. Pro-choice tries to prove that having a baby causes the woman to have a distressful life and future and that can cause some psychological harm. Some of the women will not be financially stable to have a child either due to being young or not having a stable and well-paying job. The debate on abortion is still going on today. In modern politics, our president-elect, Donald Trump, has plans for Roe v. Wade. He wants to appoint a justice who would overturn Roe v. Wade. If it was overturned, a woman’s right to abortion would depend on the state she lives in. Trump said that Roe v. Wade was â€Å"wrongly decided† which means that Trump is pro-life. He wants to prohibit abortion during his presidency. If abortion was prohibited by him, women would still always find a way to abort the fetus but in a harmful and unsafe way such as using a coat hanger or back-alley procedures. In my opinion, all women in every state should have access to abortion but only in the first trimester. I say only in the first trimester because, after that, it is when the fetus will start to develop feelings and organs. If a woman waits until the middle of the third trimester, that is almost fully grown a baby inside the womb who has all the organs, feelings and about to be born, it is basically known as a baby, no longer a fetus. Abortion should be legal for the first trimester. In Roe v. Wade, it helps many women to be able to get an abortion. They’re not trying to encourage people to have sexual interaction and the woman ends up becoming pregnant and take advantage of the system. They are trying to give women access who would be the ones who had been raped, too young, financially unstable, religious practices, health reasons, and so on. Women have a right to privacy which means that other people shouldn’t have to decide that she has to keep the baby. It is her body, her life, her future, her choice. History shows Aristotle and Charles Darwin as two of the most powerful biologists of all time. Aristotle's teleological method was supported widely for over 2,000 years. One scientist remarks that the Aristotelian teleology "has been the ghost, the unexplained mystery which has haunted biology through its whole history" (Ayala, 10). If Aristotle's approach has frightened biology, then Darwin, who actually nicknamed himself the "Devils Chaplain," and his idea of natural selection has virtually dissected Aristotle's ghost. While Aristotle explained biology through a plan and a purpose, Darwin debated that randomness and chaos are responsible for the organic world as we know it. Guiseppe Montalenti, an Italian geneticist and philosopher of biology, wrote that Darwin's ideas were a rebellion against thought in the Aristotelian-scholastic way (Ayala, 4). In order to understand how Darwinism can be considered a revolt against Aristotle, we must first inspect Aristotle's ideas and thoughts about biology.
